Thel Moore was born and raised in Baltimore MD and trained at the Baltimore School for the Arts and the Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory. While training he had the pleasure to learn from ballet legends Eleanor D’Antuono and Kirk Peterson as well as Victoria Mazzarelli who worked with William Forsythe in Frankfurt Ballet. While in school he performed at the Inside/Out theater at Jacob’s Pillow.
After one season at Charlotte Ballet under the direction of Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Thel moved to Richmond VA and joined the Richmond Ballet, where he spent 5 seasons with the company. He had the pleasure to work with many incredible choreographers and artists such as Patricia McBride, Desmond Richardson, Ma Cong, and Val Caniparoli. As well as performing in works such as “Who Cares?” “Theme and Variations” “Carmina Burana” and many story ballets. A highlight of his career was performing the second pas de deux in Jerome Robbins' “In the Night”.
Mate Szentes is originally from Budapest, Hungary and began his training at the age of six. He studied at the Hungarian Dance Academy while attending summer programs at North Carolina Dance Theater in Charlotte, NC on full scholarships. Upon Graduation he joined Hungarian National Ballet where he danced for 3 years. In 2012 Mr. Szentes moved to California to become a member of Sacramento Ballet. He relocated to the east coast in 2015 to join the Richmond Ballet where he danced principal and soloist roles in the company’s very versatile repertoire. Besides dancing classical ballet’s most famous roles he had the opportunity to dance many of George Balanchine’s works. Since 2016 he has also been choreographing and had his original works showcased in Virginia, California, and New Mexico.
